New Bitcoin Institute to focus on Africa

Anaïse Kanimba, daughter of Rwandan activist Paul Rusesabagina, is leading the newly established Africa Bitcoin Institute.

AfriBit Launches Bitcoin Financial Inclusion Project in Kibera
AfriBit Africa, a Nairobi-based Bitcoin startup, has initiated a financial inclusion project in Kibera, one of Kenya’s largest informal settlements. Over 2,000 BitcoinBTC-2.48% transactions have been facilitated since the initiative began, offering residents an alternative to traditional banking systems, which remain largely inaccessible in the area.

Africa’s quiet Bitcoin revolution
Bitcoin adoption in Africa is growing fast as people use it for savings, remittances, and protection from inflation and currency instability. Unlike volatile altcoins, Bitcoin offers a secure, decentralized store of value and a reliable payment rail. Over $54 billion in activity has been recorded in Sub-Saharan Africa, driven by real economic needs, not speculation.
