1. Pick n Pay let’s you pay for groceries using bitcoin

Let’s start with the news that almost broke the internet! Pick ‘n Pay may now become the number one retailer in Africa by including Bitcoin lightning payments in their payment options. Click here to read more.

2. Nigeria youths will lead the next economic revolution – CEO of Paxful

Nigeria has become one of the biggest Bitcoin markets in Africa, especially since the COVID-19 era and the End Sars protest. Ray Youssef, Founder and CEO of Paxful, shared at the Digital Nigeria Conference 2022 that the enthusiasm of young people in Nigeria is a great sign of what is to come to the global crypto space. Click here to learn more.

3. Luno and Food Forward SA team up to allow South Africans to make Bitcoin charity donations

Cryptocurrency platform Luno and food distribution non-profit organization FoodForward SA have partnered up to enable South Africans make charitable donations using bitcoin. Click here to read more.

4. Africa’s cryptocurrency market marches to its own beat

The most beautiful thing about Bitcoin in Africa is that, against all odds and government sanctions against Bitcoin, Bitcoin in Africa always finds ways to thrive. For example, Nigeria’s ban on direct crypto-bank direct exchange caused a dramatic surge in the P2P retail market. According to the Chainalysis report, P2P transactions could be much more than estimated, as informal dealings through group chats, for instance, have been reported in Nigeria and countries like Kenya. Click here to read more.

5. BTrust throws its weight behind Africa Bitcoin Conference

The organisers of the upcoming Africa Bitcoin Conference must be shocked at the buzz the Conference, which is set to hold in Accra Ghana from December 5 – 7 2022, is making globally. A couple of big shots have jumped in to sponsor the Conference, the most recent sponsors being ₿trust, an organisation whose goal is to locate and educate developers in the Global South interested in working on Bitcoin Technology. Click here to read more.

African Bitcoin Conference

The African Bitcoin Conference is set to hold at Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City Accra, Ghana, from December 5th to 7th 2022. Some of the speakers include Jark Dorsey, Kgothatso Ngako, Hermann Buhr Vivier, Elizabeth Stark, Ray Youseff, Alex Gladstein, Obi Nwosi, Vladimir Fomene, Mary Victoria Imasuen, Paco de la India and so many more. Bitcoin is not only money to Africa and Africans.
