Participants highlighted the importance of taking into account Kenya’s advanced digital payment infrastructure and extensive financial inclusion, as well as the need for a thorough evaluation of the potential risks linked to a CBDC. Nigeria remains the only African country to have launched a CBDC to date. Read more.
