1. FTX’s collapse has sent shivers down the spine of Africa’s crypto community

The FTX saga has taken a toll on the African Crypto community. Many crypto traders in Africa who used FTX-linked platforms are in shock, voicing their regrets on social media, unable to withdraw their funds, and with nowhere to file their grievances. Click here to read more.

2. Zimbabwean Central Bank launches CBDC consumer survey


Nigeria isn’t the only country bent on making another “central bank digital currency” mistake, Japan made the same move but pulled out of its plan in August The Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ) seems to be bent on making the same mistake as they push for residents to share their views and thoughts concerning “the design and nature of the bank’s proposed CBDC [central bank digital currency].” According to the bank’s November 9 tweet, which links to the survey form, Zimbabwean residents must complete the exercise before 7 December 2022. Click here to learn more.

3. Bitcoin owes its success in Nigeria to the unstoppable youth, says Paxful CEO

It is no news that Paxful’s co-founder Ray Youssef is a lover of Nigeria and Nigerians. In an interview during Bitcoin Amsterdam, he said the mental strength and hustle of Nigerians, combined with the introduction of Bitcoin rails in the country, is making a real difference in breaking “economic apartheid.” Click here to read more.


4. BFF’s Bitcoin Flyer now available for free in nine different languages

Bitcoin for Fairness launched a Bitcoin flyer recently. The Bitcoin flyer is a mini  Bitcoin, self-custody, and anti-scam education pamphlet that could be shared at Bitcoin Meetups. Last week, they announced that the flyer is now available for free in 9 languages. Click here to read more.

The African Bitcoin Conference is set to be held at Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City Accra, Ghana, from 5 to 7 December 2022.
