The South African Financial Sector Conduct Authority has chosen to classify Bitcoin as a Financial Product. The notice defines a crypto asset as a “digital representation of value” that is not issued by a central bank but can be traded, transferred or stored electronically “for the purpose of payment, investment and other forms of utility.” Click here to see the statement.

5. Africa Crypto Transactions increase despite bear Market
The Bitcoin space is experiencing a major boom in Africa despite the bear market. According to research carried out by a blockchain forensics firm called Chainalysis, Africa’s cryptocurrency market grew by over 1200% between 2020 and 2021. The research added that four African countries – Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa and Tanzania all rank in the top 20 for global crypto adoption. This growth was largely powered by retail users rather than institutional investors. Click here to read more.

We believe the only thing standing between where we are today and African Bitcoin adoption is education. Once someone understands Bitcoin, it changes them forever.
