Sub-Saharan Africa is experiencing a surge in Bitcoin adoption, accounting for 2.3% of global transaction volume between July 2022 and June 2023. The region’s retail-driven market, particularly in key markets like Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana and South Africa, is driving the adoption of cryptocurrencies. Read more.


2. Gorilla Sat Becomes official resellers of Trezor hardware wallets in Africa

Gorilla Sat, a leading player in the African Bitcoin scene, has officially been named as resellers of Trezor hardware wallets in Africa, providing enhanced security options for Bitcoin enthusiasts across the continent. Read tweet.


3. Coinbase to Integrate Lightning Network for Faster and Cheaper Bitcoin Payments

Coinbase says it is intent on incorporating Lightning Network, a layer-2 payment protocol for Bitcoin, in response to users’ demand for quicker and more cost-effective Bitcoin transactions. Read more.
