Let’s get started 🚀

We will keep finding innovative ways to educate Africans about Bitcoin because we believe that Bitcoin has the power to transform the financial landscape of Africa, and it starts with each one of us gaining a deeper understanding.

This is why we are  introducing our Watch Party Wednesday to our Discord group every Wednesday at 2pm UTC, starting from November 8th, 2023. We invite you to join us as we review a top Bitcoin video together. We will spend up to an hour watching and then engage in thought-provoking conversations giving us all a chance to learn, connect, and grow with like-minded individuals. It’s a unique chance to deepen your understanding of Bitcoin and its potential for Africa.

Mark your calendar for the first Watch Party on November 8th, and let’s embark on this exciting adventure together.

Join us on our Discord Community.

2. African #Bitcoin users seem to have much more freedom to experiment and build than Americans.

New York State (NYS) is one of the most restrictive jurisdictions in the world regarding Bitcoin, requiring companies dealing in the virtual currency marketplace to obtain a “BitLicense” since 2015. This license is difficult and expensive to acquire, and Bitcoin-only exchanges like River and Swan, as well as reputable crypto exchanges like Kraken, cannot serve NYS residents. Read more.

3. Sub-Saharan Africa turns to crypto to fight inflation and support trade, says Chainalysis

Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, and South Africa are among the countries that have exhibited significant crypto adoption with Bitcoin holding a significant share of transaction volume in Sub-Saharan Africa, largely due to residents seeking digital gold as an alternative store of value.  Read more.
