1. Kenya suspends Worldcoin cryptocurrency, data protection probe

Kenya has suspended Worldcoin, a cryptocurrency based on iris recognition, pending investigations into data security and protection. Launched in Germany by OpenAI boss Sam Altman, Worldcoin is a blockchain-based digital passport that allows users to prove their identity online without sharing personal data. The Kenyan Ministry of Home Affairs suspended Worldcoin activities until government agencies certify the absence of risk to the public. Worldcoin is not yet available in the United States, where authorities are trying to better regulate the sector. Read more.
