1. 3 Countries Changes IMF’s Stance On Bitcoin
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has recently acknowledged that prohibitionism may not be effective in the long run when addressing Bitcoin. Countries like El Salvador, Georgia, and Nigeria have influenced this new perspective, with El Salvador gaining attention for its Bitcoin Law and developing renewable energy-based bitcoin mining facilities. Georgia is also taking steps to grow its crypto strategy, despite being a small country like El Salvador. and Nigeria leading in Bitcoin adoption in Africa despite its government taking different steps around this reality and even tried to ban it. Read more.

2. Report: Zimbabwe Central Bank Begins Gold-Backed Digital Currency ‘Dry Run’
The Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe is launching a “dry run” test to test the feasibility of issuing a gold-backed digital currency as a payment method. The digital currency will be accepted as legal tender for peer-to-peer transactions and will help Zimbabwe diminish its insatiable demand for the greenback. We believe that Bitcoin is still the safest bet for countries seeking to reduce their dependence on foreign currencies. due to its transparency, scarcity, and global nature.  Read more.

3. Egyptian Pound Latest African Currency to Slump to Record Low Versus US Dollar

The Egyptian pound has depreciated to a record low against the US dollar this is due to the loan Egypt is seeking from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to address energy and food shocks from the Ukraine-Russia conflict. The IMF is demanding a “more flexible exchange rate” and Egypt is expected to accede to its demands. With Bitcoin, Egypt can reduce its reliance on the dollar and establish a sovereign, decentralized, transparent, and stable financial system.
